Audrain County Structure Fire Causes at Least One Million Dollars in Damage

An estimated loss of at least one million dollars is being reported after a structure fire in Audrain County last night (Wednesday).

The Little Dixie Fire Protection District responded to the fire around 6:54 last night at the Andrew Fairchild residence at 10546 Audrain Road 435.

A large machine shed containing farming machinery was fully engulfed in flames.

Little Dixie responded with 2 engines, 3 tankers, a rescue truck and 24 firefighters.

Martinsburg Fire responded with a tanker and 4 personnel.

One firefighter developed some chest discomfort and was checked by the medics and found to be okay.

The cause of the fire appears to be a tractor that had been plugged into an electrical outlet shortly before the fire was discovered.
