Man On Pretrial Release Takes Jefferson City Police On A Pursuit

A suspect who was on pretrial release is now facing more charges after taking police on a pursuit in Jefferson City yesterday (Thursday) morning.

32 year old Byron Williams was arrested after a vehicle pursuit on West Main Street at Highway 179 just before 9 yesterday (Thursday) morning.

Officers say when Williams was arrested they recovered more than one thousand dollars of methamphetamine and a small amount of marijuana.

Investigators also obtained a search warrant for his residence in the 2800 block of Sue Drive and found a stolen handgun.

Williams is currently on pretrial release for prior charges of trafficking in narcotics, unlawful use of a weapon and several other charges.
