Jefferson City Police Department Looking at Several Options to Purchase Body Cameras

The Jefferson City Police Department is looking at several options for the purchase of body cameras.

A public safety meeting was held this week and the department says the body cameras would cost about four hundred thousand dollars.

Leasing would cost the department between seven hundred fifty thousand dollars and one million dollars over a 5-year period.

The Jefferson City Council will discuss putting a public safety tax on the ballot this August or November.
