Boone County Detainee Accused of Sneaking Gun Into the Jail

A detainee at the Boone County Jail yesterday afternoon is being accused of sneaking a gun into the jail.

Officials say that Amy Wilhite had the fun in a body cavity and was searched 3 times once by the arresting agency, on February 14th, by a Detention Sergeant when she entered the Boone County Jail and a procedural strip search later conducted by another Detention Officer prior to her being introduced into general population.

Officials believe Wilhite removed the gun from her body and concealed it within her personal belongings.
