One Dead in Pettis County Crash

One person is dead following a head on collision in Pettis County on Saturday night.

According to the Missouri Highway Patrol 33 year old Christina Rice of Sedalia was taken to Bothwell Hospital where she was pronounced dead.

A 13-year old female passenger inside of Rice’s car sustained serious injuries and was taken to the University of Columbia Medical Center.

A 16 year old male sustained minor injuries.

The teen, who was driving a vehicle, was traveling westbound behind a second vehicle who slowed to yield to Rice’s car, traveling eastbound, at a narrow bridge.

The male juvenile attempted to avoid the vehicle in front of him and swerved into the oncoming lane and struck Rice’s car head-on and hit the driver’s side of the 2nd vehicle.
