In spring training baseball action yesterday, the Cards blanked the Mets 3-0 and the Royals lost to the Angels 4-2.

The Cards are back in action tonight taking on the Astros, first pitch is at 5:05 while the Royals host the Diamondbacks this afternoon at 3:05.

The Blues face the Wild tonight in Minnesota, puck drops at 7:00.

The Blues and hockey fans are mourning the loss of Bobby Plager, killed in a St. Louis vehicle accident on I-64 yesterday afternoon.

Plager was an original Blues player when they joined the NHL as an expansion team in 1967.

He played in the league for 14 years, 11 with St. Louis along with his brothers Barclay & Billy helped the Blues to 3 consecutive Stanley Cup Finals.

Plager was 78 and leaves behind a daughter Melissa and son Bobby along with two grandchildren.

As Bobby would fondly say, he’s number five in your program but number one in your hearts.

The Missouri Basketball Coaches Association is announcing their selections for All State teams.

Mexico’s Isaiah Reams and Mya Miller made the Class 5 boys and girls teams, respectively.

Community R-6 Senior Brianna Beamer is on the Class 1 girls team while South Callaway’s Senior Paige Clubb made the Class 3 team.

Wellsville-Middletown Senior Clayton Ebers made the Class 2 boys team and Montgomery County Senior Collin Parker was named to the Class 4 boys team.
