James Johns Case Continued
The case of James Johns, a former dog groomer charged with animal abuse by torture, has been continued until next month in Boone County Court.
In an email to KWWR/KXEO News, Audrain County Prosecuting Attorney Jacob Shellabarger says the case was continued until July 12th for either a disposition or setting for trial, meaning the case will either be resolved or a trial date will be set.
Johns is accused of picking up a Yorkshire Terrier by the neck and shaking it violently while employed as a groomer at a now-closed Mexico grooming business in 2019.
Johns was charged along with Taylor Stout who pled guilty to animal abuse on May 14th in Boone County on a change of venue.
