Monroe County Train Derailment

No injuries or road blockage being reported after a Norfolk Southern train derailed in Monroe County this afternoon (Thursday).

According to the Missouri State Highway Patrol, happened about a mile east of Madison just after 1:30 when 8 train cars loaded with vehicles derailed for an unknown reason.

The train was traveling from Moberly to Decatur, Illinois.

Norfolk Southern personnel and contractors are assessing the damage.
