MU Curators Vote On COVID-19 Vaccination Mandate

Following a 5-3 vote today (Thursday) by the University of Missouri Board of Curators, COVID-19 vaccines will not be mandatory for MU students and faculty.

The exception is for those already required to have vaccinations, including health care workers.

Board Chair Darryl Chatman said the decision was a matter of individual liberty and freedom to make one’s own health decisions.

Curators also voted to name the NextGen Precision Health Facility on Columbia’s campus after retiring Senator Roy Blunt.

The official name of the building, set to open October 19, is the Roy Blunt NextGen Precision Health Building.
