The Kansas City Chiefs defeated the Cleveland Browns 33-29 yesterday (Sunday) in the season opener at Arrowhead Stadium.

The Browns led for nearly 53 minutes, however could not hold on against Patrick Mahomes. The Chiefs quarterback has put up phenomenal stats during the month of September.

He averages over 330 yards per game, and has 35 passing touchdowns while also avoiding a single interception, and is a perfect 11-0 in the month of September.

Yesterday (Sunday) Mahomes finished with 337 yards passing and three touchdowns while running for a score.

Up next the Chiefs will travel to Baltimore on Sunday for a game against the Ravens.

The St. Louis Cardinals shut out the Cincinnati Reds 2-0 at Busch Stadium.

Nolan Arenado provided the offense with a 2 run blast.

The Cardinals propelled further up in the Wild Card chase, with one game gained on the Reds and the San Diego Padres.

Currently the Cardinals are just 1 game out of the second Wild Card spot.

The Kansas City Royals put up a 5-3 win over the Minnesota Twins on the road.

The Royals secured a weekend series win over the last place Minnesota Twins.
