KWWR Sports Report 9/28/21

The Community R6 Lady Trojans Softball Team defeated Mark Twain 17-7. Head Coach Kody Asquith says the teams bats were hot all night.

Sophomore Brooklyn Glasgow hit a walk off Grand Slam. Adding to the home run column for Community R6 was Freshman Rylee Rafferty with an inside the park Grand Slam and Sophomore Lydia Forbis hit a solo shot as well.

The St. Louis Cardinals had the day off yesterday (Monday) and are getting set to open a 3 game series with the Milwaukee Brewers at Busch Stadium tonight (Tuesday).

St. Louis needs to win just one more game or have the Cincinnati Reds or Philadelphia Phillies lose a game to clinch a playoff berth.

The Cardinals are also currently riding a 16 game winning streak which is a franchise record.

First pitch tonight is scheduled for 6:45.

The Kansas City Royals lost 8-3 to the Cleveland Indians last night (Monday) at Progressive Field.

It was Kansas City’s final road game of the season with this game being a makeup of last Wednesday’s rainout.

NFL Monday Night Football saw the Dallas Cowboys defeat the Philadelphia Eagles 41-21.
