Abel’s Oil And Quik Shops Have New Owners

Abel’s Quik Shop chain of convenience stores is being acquired by another Missouri oil company.

In an announcement today (Friday), Warrenton Oil of Truesdale announced they have purchased Abel Oil Company, based in Louisiana.

The transaction includes all 18 of Abel’s convenience stores and will expand Warrenton Oil’s presence into Audrain, Ralls, Monroe, and Pike counties.

In a press release to KWWR News, Warrenton Oil representatives said that they plan to add additional food and other services to some of the Abel’s stores and that none would be closed.

In stores that have space available, expansions like car washes, dog walks, dog washes, and fast food co-branding will be considered as well.

Warrenton Oil also says they hope to retain all Abel’s employees and will use the Abel’s headquarters as a satellite office and that Abel’s Quik Shops will eventually transition to FastLane locations.

Warrenton Oil, established in 1972 in St. Charles, currently operates 37 FastLane locations and employs 700 people.

Abel’s was founded in Louisiana in 1940 by brothers Ray, Alfred, and Charles Abel.
