Fire Prevention Week 2021 Underway

Fire Prevention Week 2021 is underway and Brice Mesko, Assistant Director of the Mexico Department of Public Safety says this year’s theme of “Learn the Sounds of Fire Safety” is great for a simple reason.

Fire Prevention Week falls in the week on which October 9th falls as a commemoration of the Great Chicago Fire of October 8-9, 1871.

Mesko also outlines what can be burned inside the city limits of Mexico as leaves begin to fall.

As a reminder, burning is not allowed on city sidewalks or streets.
