The Atlanta Braves dominated the Houston Astros 7-0 in Game 6 of the World Series last night (Tuesday) in Houston.

Former Kansas City Royal Jorge Soler was named MVP after hitting 3 home runs and collecting 6 RBI’s for the Braves in the victory.

Soler was traded to the Braves from the Royals on July 30th.

At the time of the trade, the Braves were 51-53, in third place in the NL East, and had not been over .500 all season.

The Braves won their first World Series since 1995.


University of Missouri wide receiver Barrett Banister is now nominated for the Burlsworth Trophy.

The announcement was made yesterday (Tuesday).

The Burlsworth Trophy is given to the most outstanding college football player who began his career as a walk-on and has shown outstanding performance on the field.

Banister has played in 7 games this season and his 17 receptions have all been for first downs.
