The Mexico Lady Bulldogs basketball team lost their season opener to the Battle Lady Spartans 55-47 last night (Tuesday) at the Mexico High School.

Unofficial scoring saw Mexico senior Mya Miller finish with 20 points.

Lexi Willer and Claire Hudson had 7 points each respectively.

Riley Thurman put up 6 points. Jordyn Thurman finished with 4 and Taylor DeMint had 3 points.

The Mexico Lady Bulldogs will play again on Monday, November 29th in the Montgomery County tournament against Wellsville-Middletown.

The Missouri Tigers Women’s basketball team defeated Troy 76-63 last night (Tuesday) at Mizzou Arena.

Mizzou’s free throw shooting helped them pull away in the final minutes.

The Tigers sank 11 of 14 free throw attempts within the final 90 seconds to put the game away.

Hayley Frank finished 11-12 from the charity stripe on the evening.

Frank and Haley Troupe both led the Tigers in scoring with 20 points apiece.

With the win the Mizzou Women improved to a perfect 5-0 on the season.

Van Vanetta is no longer the head football coach of the Rock Bridge Bruins.

The news was confirmed by the schools athletic director yesterday (Tuesday).

The Bruins are coming off a 4-6 season.

Vanetta was hired at Rock Bridge in January of 2017.

In five season with the Bruins, he finished with a record of 31-22.
