KWWR Sports Report 12/1/21
The Mexico Bulldogs boys basketball team are in the top 5 of the Missouri Basketball Coaches Association poll released yesterday (Tuesday).
The Bulldogs are ranked 5th in Class 4 in the state rankings.
Mexico opened their season last night (Tuesday) with a 73-26 win over Wellsville-Middletown and are coming off a 22-4 season last year where they were one game away from making the final 4 in the State playoffs.
Up next the Bulldogs will meet the Montgomery County boys on Thursday night who advanced by defeating Bowling Green 50-32 last night (Tuesday).
The Mexico Lady Bulldogs are also ranked to start the season checking in at number 8 in this weeks poll.
The Lady Bulldogs completed at 19 win season last year and have started off this season with a record of 1-1.
In other high school basketball action last night North Callaway boys beat Centralia 67-40.
The Centralia girls defeated the North Callaway girls 51-20.
The St. Louis Blues scored 3 straight goals to rally for a 4-3 shootout win against the Tampa Bay Lightning at the Enterprise Center last night (Tuesday).
Jordan Binnington made 30 saves and was perfect in the shootout.
The teams will play again tomorrow (Thursday) in Tampa.
