Missouri Department of Natural Resources Explains ARPA Funding to Local Leaders
Leaders from central and northeast Missouri meet in Mexico to hear about funding from the American Rescue Plan Act through the Missouri Department of Natural Resources.
Missouri Representatives Dr. Kent Haden and Don Mayhew were on hand last night to help answer questions community leaders had and to facilitate the meeting with DNR representatives.
Governor Parson has set aside nearly 400 million dollars in ARPA funding to fund water infrastructure grant programs that will help communities improve water and wastewater infrastructure.
Representative Mayhew, an engineer by trade, stressed the importance of planning ahead, saying the projects cities need to consider for funding should be shovel-ready with preliminary engineering work already done due to the timeline of using the ARPA funds.
Leaders from the cities of New London, Paris, Laddonia, Martinsburg, and the Mark Twain Regional Council of Governments as well as all three Audrain County Commissioners attended last night’s (Monday) meeting.
