A Mexico High School wrestler is a State Qualifier after competing in Districts over the weekend.

Katie Bowen competed in the 105 division and went 4-1 taking 3rd place.

Bowen will wrestle at the State Championships which begin on Thursday, February 17th and run through Saturday, February 19th and will be held at Mizzou Arena.

Mexico girls wrestling head coach Tony Senor says it was a “Great weekend of wrestling! We all battled to the end! A lot of close matches and a lot of fight from our girls!”

The Mexico boys and girls basketball teams will be on the road tonight (Monday) in Marshall for a North Central Missouri Conference battle against the Owls.

The varsity girls tip at 6:15 with the boys game to follow.

St. Louis Blues forward Jordan Kyrou is the winner of the fastest skater event at the NHL All-Star Weekend held in Las Vegas on Friday and Saturday.

Kyrou was competing in his first NHL All-Star Weekend.

He also netted 2 goals and 2 assists to help the Central Division to an 8-5 win against the Atlantic Division in their opening All-Star Game on Saturday.

Kyrou became the fourth Blues player to record four or more points in any All-Star game format.

St. Louis will resume their season on Thursday when they host the New Jersey Devils.

In honor of Black History Month Kansas City Royals Charities will provide free admission to the Negro Leagues Baseball Museum throughout February.

The museum, is located at 1616 East 18th Street in the heart of Kansas City’s historic 18th and Vine Jazz District and is open Tuesdays through Saturdays from 10am to 5pm and Sundays from noon to 5pm.
