All four Mexico High School boys wrestlers will be competing in the quarterfinals of the State Tournament this morning (Friday) after advancing in the first round at Mizzou Arena yesterday.

Keith Ransom, Dylan Mosley, Ricky Juarez and freshman Grant Van Horn and veterans Keith Ransom, Dylan Mosley look to bring home hardware.

Katie Bowen is making her second trip to state and lost in the first round, then won by fall in her wrestleback yesterday (Thursday). She will need to win two in a row for a shot at a medal. Katie will compete in another wrestleback this morning at 11:45.

The championships take place Saturday night.

The Missouri State High School Activities Association is releasing the District basketball brackets.

The Mexico Bulldogs boys are the number 1 seed in the Class 4 District 8 bracket.

The Bulldogs boys received a first round bye with their #1 seed and will play the winner of the #4 seed Centralia Panthers and #5 seed Moberly Spartans on Wednesday, March 2nd.

The Districts will be hosted at the Centralia High School.

The Mexico Lady Bulldogs are the #6 seed on their side of the bracket.

They will play the #3 seed Kirksville Lady Tigers on Saturday, February 26th at 2:30pm at the Centralia High School.

The winner advances to play the #2 seeded Moberly Lady Spartans on Tuesday, March 1st.

The Mexico Bulldogs boys and girls basketball teams are scheduled to host a varsity double header tonight against the Moberly Spartans at the Mexico High School Sports Complex.

The girls have a 6:30 scheduled tip, with the boys game to follow.

The Missouri Tigers women’s basketball team lost 74-49 on the road to the 21st ranked Georgia Lady Bulldogs last night (Thursday).

Next up the Mizzou women return home on Sunday when they host Mississippi State with a 2pm tip.

The Missouri Tigers men’s basketball team will be on the road tonight (Friday) playing Mississippi State.

Mizzou and Mississippi State will play twice over the next three days.

The Tigers play in Starkville tonight with a 6pm tip, then will be back at home on Sunday taking on Mississippi State at 7pm.

The St. Louis Blues lost 3-2 in overtime to the Montreal Canadiens on the road last night (Thursday).

The Canadiens won for the first time since January 18th.

The Blues are 28-14-6 on the season and have split four games since the All-Star break.
