No Injuries in Early Morning Vehicle Fire Saturday
An early morning fire Saturday destroys a pickup and damages an LP tank, according to the Little Dixie Fire Protection District.
Crews responded to the 10000 block of Audrain Road 963 at 3:30 to find a pickup with flames coming from the engine and passenger compartments.
The truck parked roughly five feet away from the LP tank and five feet away from a house.
Crews extinguished the fire with the LP tank suffering some heat damage while the home had no damage.
According to the young male owner of the truck, he was visiting friends and was tired when he arrived and fell asleep in the truck with it running.
He woke up to flames and was able to get out of the truck with no injuries, but was to seek his own treatment for minor smoke inhalation.
The truck sustained heavy fire damage with the cause determined to be a mechanical issue in the engine compartment according to the department.
