The Mexico Lady Bulldogs high school soccer team honored their fallen teammate Emma Azdell last night (Monday) before they played Kirksville at the Chris Hotop field in Mexico.

On Saturday, April 24th, 2021, the Lady Bulldogs and the Mexico community suffered the tremendous loss of Emma who was fifteen at the time of a tragic ATV accident.

last night the team held a moment of silence to remember Emma and presented Emma’s family with a mockup of a plaque that will soon be placed on the entrance of Chris Hotop Field.

The Lady Bulldogs lost 6-1 to Kirksville.

Mexico’s Shelby Kennemore scored a goal and was assisted by Paige Myers.

Lady Bulldogs goalie Tessa Haefling went over 200 saves for the season.

The Mexico Bulldogs baseball team lost 3-1 to the Platte County Pirates on the road last night (Monday).

The Bulldogs pitching struck out six.

Austin Maxwell started the game for Mexico and surrendered zero runs over four and a third innings, and struck out five.

Austin Maxwell, Daeye Miller and Matt McCurdy each managed one hit to lead the Bulldogs offense.

Mexico is 11-6 on the season and will remain on the road for the next game on Thursday night against Battle.

The Mexico Boys Tennis team lost 7-2 to Columbia Independent Tennis last night (Monday).

The Missouri Tigers men’s basketball team have reportedly lost a guard with starting experience to the transfer portal.

According to a report from On3 Sports last night (Monday) Amari Davis, who transferred to Mizzou from Green Bay ahead of last season, had entered the portal once again.

Davis appeared in 32 games for the Tigers this past season, making 13 starts.

He averaged 9 points, 2 rebounds and 1 assist per contest.

The St. Louis Cardinals lost 5-2 to the New York Mets in the series opener in St. Louis last night (Monday).

The Redbirds had a 2-0 lead and had the Mets down to their final strike in the bottom of the ninth inning.

Cardinals reliever Giovanny Gallegos struggled and blew the save opportunity.
