KWWR Sports Report 5/14/22

In the first round of Class 3 district 7 baseball action at South Callaway High School last night, North Callaway blanked the MMA Colonels 15 to 0 in 4 innings.

In Class 3 district 7 semi-final action Monday night, North Callaway faces the number 1 seed Father Tolton at 4 and South Callaway will get the number 2 seed Montgomery County at 6.

The Royals are in Colorado taking on the Rockies for 3 games and came out on top last night.

In a game with 31 total hits, Kansas City outscored Colorado 14 – 10.

The second game in the series is tonight, first pitch at 7:10 with Carlos Hernandez going to the bump for the Royals.

Jordan Hicks threw 77 pitches through five innings last night and Paul Goldschmidt homered in the eighth inning, but it wasn’t enough for the Cardinals as they lost at home 8 – 2 to the Giants.

The second game of the three game set comes up this afternoon and sees Dakota Hudson heading to the mound while the Giants counter with Jakob Junas.

First pitch set for 1:15 this afternoon.
