Mizzou basketball and new head coach Dennis Gates have added a big man to the team.

The announcement was made yesterday that 7’2 center Mabor Majak has committed to the ZOU.

Majak comes from Gates’ former team Cleveland State and has the possibility of having playing eligibility for three more seasons. Majak is originally from South Sudan.

The St. Louis Cardinals dropped the series opener against the Milwaukee Brewers 4-3 last night (Thursday) at Busch Stadium.

Paul Goldschmidt homered and extended his hitting streak to 17 games for the Redbirds.

Former St. Louis Cardinals all-star Matt Carpenter has agreed to a one-year contract with the New York Yankees.

The news came yesterday (Thursday) just a week after he was released from the Texas Rangers’ minor league system.

The Kansas City Royals beat the Minnesota Twins 3-2.

Royals reliever Scott Barlow recorded his fifth save of the season.

With their backs to the wall the St. Lois Blues will once again face an elimination game tonight (Friday) in game 6 of their second round playoff series against the Colorado Avalanche.

The Blues trail the best-of-seven series 3-2.

Tonight’s game will be played at the Enterprise Center in St. Louis.

The Golden State Warriors have punched their ticket to the NBA Finals after defeating the Dallas Mavericks 120-110 in Game 5 of the Western Conference Finals.

The Warriors await the winner of the Eastern Conference Finals.

The Boston Celtics currently lead the series 3-2 and could close out the Miami Heat tonight.
