Mexico Man Arrested After Refusing to Stop for MPSD

A Mexico man who ran from Mexico Public Safety Saturday night finds himself charged with a number of offenses.

Officers tried to stop a vehicle that was reportedly being driven in a careless and imprudent manner on North Washington Street.

The driver refused to stop and ultimately crashed into storage units at the corner of Washington and Allison Streets and then fled on foot, leaving his 14-year-old daughter at the crash site.

44-year-old Joe F. Hultz later turned himself in at Mexico Public Safety and taken to the Audrain County Jail on charges of C&I driving, resisting arrest, driving while revoked, leaving the scene of an accident, endangering the welfare of a child, and possession of drug paraphernalia.

Neither Hultz nor his daughter were injured in the incident.
