Columbia Police Department Active Assailant Training Registration Now Open
On Saturday, August 27, the Columbia Police Department will host two free training sessions on how to best respond in the event of an active assailant. While these sessions are open to the public, there is a limit of 70 participants per session and pre-registration is required.
The sessions will take place at the CPD Regional Training Center located at 5001 Meyer Industrial Drive. The first session will be held from 9am – 11am and the second session will be held from 12pm – 2pm. Participants will select only one of the two sessions to attend as both will contain the same material.
Police Trainer Andre Cook will facilitate the training. Each session will introduce attendees to the process of planning for and reacting to an armed intruder, as well as the decisions individuals may need to make in the event of a life-threatening critical incident.
Registration for the training can be completed at the following link: https://docs.google.com/forms/d/1I1Rdyhss68t8ulJ5EBwIGUnK4GIBseDFuppua1BenFY/edit
