Centralia Man Charged With Two Felonies in Connection With January 6 Insurrection
A Centralia man is facing federal charges for his alleged involvement in the January 6 breach of the US Capitol.
36-year-old Jerod Thomas Bargar was arrested yesterday (Wednesday) in Osage Beach and charged with entering and remaining in a restricted building or grounds with a deadly or dangerous weapon and unlawful possession of a firearm on Capitol grounds or buildings, both felonies.
According to court documents, Bargar illegally brought a 9mm semi-automatic pistol across state lines into the District of Columbia, to the rally near the Ellipse and then onto the restricted grounds of the Capitol.
Bargar was not licensed to carry a firearm in the District of Columbia and officers recovered the weapon on the west side of the Capitol building.
