KWWR Sports Report 8/4/22

The St. Louis Cardinals, fresh off last night’s rain out against Chicago, host the Cubs again today at Busch Stadium in a double header at 12:15 with Cubs’ Marcus Stroman versus Cards’ Miles Mikolas. Newly acquired Jose Quintana will pitch for the Cards against the Cubs at 6:45.

The Royals try to bounce back from last night’s 4-1 road loss to the White Sox. They return home to host Boston, Nick Pivetta versus Kris Bubic.

Missouri State quarterback Jason Shelley (St., Frisco, Texas) is one if a handful of elite FCS football players announced yesterday (August 3) to the Walter Payton Award Preseason Watch List.

Missouri State cornerback Montrae Braswell (Jr., Avon Park, Fla.) is on the exclusive list of FCS football players announced today (August 4) to the Buck Buchanan Award Preseason Watch List.

The University of Missouri has set their annual Family Fan Night for the football team. Fans are invited to Faurot Field on Saturday evening August 20th. Open practice and the Concourse Carnival run from 6:30 – 8pm, with “The Flick on Faurot” (this year it’s the Marvel movie, “Dr. Strange”) starting at 8pm. The event is free and open to the public.
