Multiple Explosive Devices Found in Hannibal Man’s Home
Yesterday (Sunday), a Hannibal man’s home was searched after a brief delay. Joshua E. Rickey, 33, was served with a search warrant at a residence in the 800 block of Hayward Street by the Hannibal Police and the ATF. Rickey refused to answer the door, although officers could see him inside. After some phone contact with a negotiator, Rickey surrendered after about an hour.
A search of the residence by an ATF certified bomb dog along with detectives and bomb squad members yielded several explosive devices which were removed by the Missouri State Highway Patrol Bomb Squad. A search at another location on Orchard Avenue located an additional device which was also secured by the bomb squad. Rickey remains in custody at the Marion County Jail and his bond was set at $50,000 cash only.
The Hannibal Police Department was assisted by the Missouri State Highway Patrol Bomb Squad, Bureau of Alcohol Tobacco and Firearms (ATF), Hannibal Fire Department, Marion County Ambulance, and NECOMM.
