Two Arrests Made in Columbia Homicide

Two men are in the Boone County Jail following a homicide Saturday afternoon in the parking lot of Moser’s at 900 Keene Street in Columbia.

Officers responded to a shots fired call at 4:20 Saturday afternoon and found 22-year-old Shavez Avieon Waage of Columbia with gunshot wounds.

Officers provided medical care at the scene but Waage was already deceased.

Police arrested 22-year-old Loyal Martell of Holts Summit for first-degree murder, first-degree robbery, unlawful use of a weapon and armed criminal action.

22-year-old Joshua Dudley of Kirksville was arrested for second-degree murder, first-degree robbery and armed criminal action.

Columbia Police were assisted by both Holts Summit, Fulton, and Kirksville Police Departments as well as the Callaway County Sheriff’s Department with the arrests.

The investigation is ongoing.
