Death Investigation of Audrain County Jail Inmate Ongoing
The death of an Audrain County Jail inmate is under investigation, according to Cole County Sheriff John Wheeler.
In a press release from Sheriff Wheeler, Audrain County Sheriff Matt Oller contacted him at 8pm on September 22 regarding an inmate death in the Audrain County Jail and wanted an outside agency to investigate and requested Cole County to do it.
Two Cole County investigators conducted the investigation and after reviewing video and speaking to witnesses, the preliminary investigation found no foul play involved.
The investigation is continuing.
