KWWR Sports Report 10/20/22

The Blues remain undefeated after 2 games, beating Seattle last night 4 to 3.

Justin Faulk got his second goal of the game in overtime to propel the Blues to victory.

The National League Championship Series is tied at 1 each after San Diego beat the Phillies yesterday 8 to 5 while the American League Championship Series got underway yesterday with the Astros striking first to lead the series 1 to nothing, beating the Yankees 4 to 2.

The 2nd game of that series is tonight in Houston, first pitch is at 6:37.

It’s high school softball post-season play and some schools have already punched their tickets to the final four in Springfield next Thursday.

In Class 4, Helias will take on Washington in the final four along with Warrenton who will play Kearney. Both games have a noon start time next Thursday.

In Class 1 sectional action yesterday, New Franklin and Salisbury both advance to quarterfinals, playing each other Saturday afternoon at 1:00 in Salisbury.

State quarterfinals for classes 2 and 3 get underway this evening.

Class 2 sees Eugene hosting Kelly, Elsberry travels to Marceline, and Russellville is on the road to Valley Park.

In Class 3, Bowling Green heads to Columbia to face Father Tolton.
