KWWR Sports Report 1/23/23
The final conference championship teams are now set in the NFL.
Saturday, despite an ankle injury, Patrick Mahomes led the Chiefs to a 27 – 20 win over Jacksonville while the Eagles handled the Giants 38 – 7.
Yesterday, the Bengals took care of the Bills 27 – 10 and the 49ers beat the Cowboys 19 – 12.
The Chiefs host the Bengals Sunday at 5:30 while the 49ers travel to Philly to take on the Eagles at 2:00 with the winners meeting in the Super Bowl on February 12th.

The Tigers were without leading scorer Kobe Brown and Kaleb Brown Saturday night and the scoreboard reflected that.
Number 4 Alabama beat Mizzou 85 – 64 in Columbia.
The Tigers were led by senior Isiaih Mosley with 19 points, graduate guard DeAndre Gholson chipped in 10 points from the bench, and junior Mohamed Diarra added a career-high eight points.
The Tigers fall to 14 – 5 and 3 – 4 in SEC play.
Mizzou is on the road tomorrow night, headed to Oxford, Mississippi to take on Ole Miss, tipoff is at 6:00.
The Tiger women’s team lost yesterday to Tennessee at home, 68 – 65.
Led by Hayley Frank with a season-best of 26 points and Jayla Kelly’s career high 14 points, the Tigers couldn’t overcome an 11 – 0 run from the Lady Cols headed into the fourth quarter.
The Tigers head to Athens, Georgia Thursday to battle the Bulldogs, tipoff set for 6:00.

The Community R-VI Trojans played spoiler for Paris’ courtwarming Friday night, beating the Coyotes 49 – 35.
Leading scorers for the Trojans were Gavin Allen with 21, Eli Johnson with 13, and Tucker Robnett with 10 points.
The 80th Annual Tony Lenzini tournament wrapped up Saturday night in Palmyra.
In boys action, Van-Far came home with the championship by a point, beating Palmyra 35 – 34.
Canton took third place.
On the girls side, Canton handled Palmyra 74 – 61 to take the championship while Hannibal took third by a point, beating Monroe City 39 – 38.
As high school basketball tournament season continues, the 98th Annual Bowling Green tourney tips off tonight with girls action.
At 5:30, number 1 seed Elsberry takes on the 8th seeded Van-Far Lady Indians while the number 4 seed Clopton faces the number 5 seed, the North Callaway Lady Thunderbirds.
The 6:50 games pit the second seed Winfield against the 7th seed host Lady Bobcats of Bowling Green and third seeded Silex gets the 6th seed, the Louisiana Lady Bulldogs.
Boys action begins tomorrow night.

The Mexico bulldog boys are at home tonight taking on Boonville at 7:30 while the Lady Dawgs start tournament play in Harrisburg.
