The Kansas City Chiefs are adding to their defensive line.

Prior to yesterday (Tuesday), Chris Jones was the only defensive tackle left that played meaningful snaps last season, but early in the day yesterday the Chiefs re-signed Tershawn Wharton to a one-year, $2 million deal.

Later in the day, Kansas City inked a two-year, $20 million deal with Charles Omenihu.

The 25-year old Omenihu played college ball at Texas and was drafted by the Houston Texans before being traded to the 49ers.

He recorded 39 quarterback hurries, 10 QB hits, 5 sacks, 10 stops and one forced fumble during last year’s regular season and 8 pressures, 3 stops and another forced fumble across both post-season games for the 49ers.

The honors for Mizzou senior basketball player Kobe Brown keep coming.

Brown was named yesterday (Tuesday) as a second-team Academic All-American.

He’s the only player in the country shooting 55% from the field and 40% from three-point range.

Off the court, Brown owns a 3.594 grade point average with a perfect 4.0 GPA during the fall semester.

He’ll lead the Tigers against Utah State in the NCAA Tournament tomorrow (Thursday) afternoon at 12:40.

In spring training yesterday, the Cards & Astros ended tied at 3 a piece while the Mariners got the better of Kansas City 8 – 6.

Today, it’s the Cards taking on the Mets at 12:10 and the Royals play the Rangers at 3:05.
