KWWR Sports Report 4/27/23

In high school baseball last (Wednesday) night the Mexico Bulldogs lost 4-3 to Blair Oaks.

The game was tied at three with Blair Oaks batting in the bottom of the sixth when the Falcons singled, scoring one-run.

Mexico out-hit Blair Oaks eight to six. Jack Wilburn singled and scored a run.

Wilburn also manned the mound striking out three.

Brady Fox and Andrew Runge entered the game from the bullpen.

Drew DeMint led Mexico with two hits in three at bats.

The St. Louis Cardinals lost 7-3 to the San Francisco Giants last (Wednesday) night.

It was a third consecutive loss for the Redbirds.

Cardinals slugger Paul Goldschmidt hit two home runs in the loss.

It was also announced yesterday (Wednesday) that St. Louis optioned rookie Jordan Walker to Triple-A Memphis.

After starting the season with a 12-game hitting streak, he started just one of the team’s last four games.

The Kansas City Royals were shut out 2-0 by the Arizona Diamondbacks.

Hundreds of thousands of football fans will be in Kansas City over the next several days as the NFL Draft kicks off today.

Fans who registered through the NFL OnePass App received a message Wednesday warning that the event may reach capacity at times.

Draft organizers say the event’s capacity is 60,000 people.

So far more than 100,000 fans have registered through the OnePass Ap to attend the 2023 NFL Draft.
