Mexico head coach Tony Senor says, “This was a great match for our seniors to go out on. Declan and Zeven started during the 2020 season and they did not get to play that season due to the pandemic. Jackson came to us last year after playing golf for the boys team for two years. All three will be missed because of their good attitude, leadership skills, and talent on the courts. We wish them luck in where they go next. We had a very good performance as a team and we’re picking up steam going into the NCMC Tournament and District Tournament next week. Have to stay focused and finish strong.”

The St. Louis Cardinals took out the San Francisco Giants 6-0 yesterday (Thursday) to avoid a series sweep.

Redbirds starting pitcher Miles Mikolas picked up his first win of the season and struck out six.

Paul Dejong and Alec Burleson each went yard for the Cardinals in the win.

The Kansas City Royals lost 7-1 to the Minnesota Twins on the road.

The Carolina Panthers kicked off last night’s (Thursday) NFL Draft by taking quarterback Bryce Young with the No. 1 pick.

The Kansas City Chiefs had the final pick of the first round and chose a hometown boy, by selecting Kansas State pass rusher Felix Anudike-Uzomah with the 31st overall pick. He was born in Kansas City and became a high school star in Lee’s Summit.

The NFL Draft continues tonight (Friday) in Kansas City.
