Mexico Public Safety Responds to Two Separate Fire Calls in the Same Area

Mexico Public Safety responded to separate fire calls on Friday, June 9.

Mexico Public Safety says they responded to the area of Huntingfield Road and Boulevard just before 2pm and found an area of grass about 1/3 of an acre burning.

It was determined the large lot was being bowed when the mower became too hot and caught some of the cut grass on fire.

The mower suffered minor damage.

While personnel were still on Huntingfield Road, smoke was seen in the area of Pollock Road.

It was determined a UTV, being operated on private property in the 1800 block of Pollock Road had a mechanical failure and caught fire after being pulled close to the roadway for repair.

The fire was put out, however the UTV was completely destroyed.

There were no injuries from either incident.
