Mexico Bulldogs Varsity Basketball Goes Unbeaten at Harrisburg Shootout

The Mexico Bulldogs varsity basketball team went a perfect 3-0 at the Harrisburg Shootout yesterday (Tuesday).

The Bulldogs picked up wins over Harrisburg, Fort Zumwalt South, and Linn.

Head coach Darren Pappas says “The team did a good job of applying pressure which generated some turnovers which Mexico turned into points. DJ Long did a great job of pressuring the ball, reading the defenses, attacking the basket, and finding the open man. PJ Perkins made hustle plays and lead us in rebounds. Donye Nunnelly and Holden Aulbur were forces in the paint. Jaydon Eldridge, Charlie Fisher, Kaden Benne, and Aidan Knipfel were all very active on the defensive end and made some timely shots. Sam Ryan, Kinser Groves, and Christian Bass did a great job giving us some spark off the bench. We hope to build on this as we head into our final shootout of the month.”

Up next Mexico is headed to Poplar Bluff on Friday and Saturday for the Rib City Shootout.
