The St. Louis Cardinals made several moves yesterday (Tuesday) before the Major League Baseball Trade Deadline.

The Cardinals dealt starting pitcher Jack Flaherty to the Baltimore Orioles for three prospects that included an infielder, a right handed pitcher and a left handed pitcher.

Shortstop Paul Dejong was traded to the Toronto Blue Jays for a right handed pitcher.

With previous trades the Cardinals restocked its farm system with seven pitchers and three position players.

After the trade deadline passed there were baseball games to be played.

The St. Louis Cardinals lost 3-2 to the Minnesota Twins.

The Kansas City Royals beat the New York Mets 7-6 in ten innings at the K.

The Royals are now riding a four game winning streak.

Stephens College announced a new athletic director this week.

Andre Bell, head basketball coach at Stephens College, was appointed the job.

He will continue coaching along with the athletic director position.

Three Mizzou football players are on preseason watch lists for two different college football awards.

It was announced yesterday (Tuesday) that Missouri left tackle Javon Foster is on the Outland Trophy watch list.

The award goes to the nation’s best interior lineman.

Mizzou had a pair of defensive players named to the Bronko Nagurski watch list.

Mizzou cornerback Kris Abrams-Draine and linebacker Ty’Ron Hopper each landed on the list.

That trophy goes to the nation’s best defensive player each season.
