KWWR Sports Report 9/8/23
The Kansas City Chiefs dropped the NFL season opener 21-20 to the Detroit Lions at Arrowhead Stadium last night (Thursday).
The Chiefs were without their main target, tight end Travis Kelce, who was sidelined with a hyperextended knee.
Patrick Mahomes went 21-39 passing with 226 yards, two scores and an interception.
Kansas City hits the road next week to play at Jacksonville at noon on Sunday, September 17th.
The St. Louis Cardinals were unable to complete a series sweep of the Atlanta Braves losing 8-5.
The Braves touched up Cardinals pitching for five home runs.
