Mexico Teen Accused of DWI After Leading Callaway County Deputies On High-Speed Chase

A Mexico teen is facing charges after reportedly leading Callaway County deputies on a high-speed chase and crashing his mother’s car.

According to a report from ABC 17 News, 18-year-old Blake Lewis Mason was charged this weekend with resisting arrest and driving while intoxicated-having a person younger than 17 years old inside a vehicle.

The alleged incident happened on Saturday, September 23rd when a deputy was traveling southbound on Old Highway 54 near Highway 2002 while following a Honda Accord that was going 108 miles per hour.

The deputy turned on his lights, however the Honda continued to speed over 110 miles per hour in a 55 miles per hour zone.

The chase went through Auxvasse where Mason is accused of passing several vehicles near North Main Street.

A crash happened as Mason failed to negotiate a turn onto Highway 176 from Old Highway 54 and the vehicle rolled.

There were three teenage passengers that included two 17-year-old girls and a 16-year-old boy.

Mason was administered a breath test by a Missouri State Highway Patrol trooper and blew a .103 according to a probable cause statement.
