The Fulton Hornets boys soccer team advanced to their first district championship since 2020 after defeating Southern Boone 4-3 last night (Monday) at Southern Boone High School in the Class 2 District 4 semifinals.

The win also snapped the Hornets 14-match losing streak to Southern Boone.

The No. 2 seeded Hornets will now face the 4th seeded Osage in the district championship at 6pm on Thursday in Ashland.

Even after one of the worst games of his NFL career on Sunday, Patrick Mahomes was the unanimous choice by the Associated Press for No. 1 quarterback in the NFL at the midpoint of the season.

The panel of nine AP Pro Football Writers released their rankings of the top five players at QB yesterday (Monday).

Kansas City head coach Andy Reid was a near unanimous choice by the AP for the top coach in the NFL.

Reid received eight of nine first-place votes in the poll.

The Texas Rangers beat the Arizona Diamondbacks 3-1 last night (Monday) in the World Series to take a 2-1 series lead.

With the win the Rangers advance to a Major League Baseball record of 9-0 away from home in the playoffs.

It was not all good news for the Rangers however, as pitcher Max Scherzer, left the game after three innings with back tightness, and American League Championship Series MVP Adolis Garcia later left in the seventh inning with left side tightness.
