The Missouri men’s basketball team coasted to a 101-79 season opening win against Arkansas Pine Bluff last night (Monday).

Missouri’s leading scorer was Sean East II who had 21 points while shooting seven for eight from the field.

Four other Tigers finished in doubled digits, including Tamar Bates and Nick Honor who both had 18 points and Caleb Grill and Noah Carter both had 15 points.

Missouri will look to make it back-to-back wins to open the season on Friday when they host Memphis.

Tip-off is scheduled for 8pm.

Missouri women’s basketball also opened the season with a win last night (Monday) defeating Belmont 72-61.

Freshman Grace Slaughter finished her first game with a double-double, registering 10 points to go along with 10 rebounds.

The Mizzou women conclude their two-game home-stand against Indiana State at 7pm on Thursday at Mizzou Arena.

Longtime Westminster College head football coach John Welty is announcing his retirement.

Westminster made the announcement yesterday (Monday).

Welty started his career at Westminster in 1998 as defensive coordinator and transitioned to the head coach position in 1999.

During Welty’s 24 years with the Blue Jays he had an overall record of 103-108.

Westminster said it has started a national search to replace Welty.
