On December 1, 2023, at approximately 8:23pm, Callaway County deputies conducted a traffic stop of a vehicle on State Road Z near Fulton. During the traffic stop, deputies requested assistance from the Fulton Police Department K9. FPD K9 Bo was deployed around the vehicle, and probable cause was established to search the vehicle.

During the search, deputies recovered 4.8 grams (4800 milligrams) of Fentanyl and numerous drug paraphernalia. The MUSTANG Drug Task Force also assisted with this investigation.

According to online resources, 2 milligrams or more of Fentanyl, similar to 5-7 grains of salt, is considered a lethal dose. Thus, the amount of Fentanyl seized was enough for 2400 lethal doses.
