KWWR Sports Report 12/19/23

The Mexico Lady Bulldogs lost to the Boonville Lady Pirates 52-41 in Boonville on Monday, December 18, 2023.

Jordyn Thurman finished in double digit scoring with 10 points, Grace Hudson recorded 9 points and Claire Hudson with 8 points.

Mexico head coach Mackenzie Mudd says “Boonville is a fast, good shooting team. I think we did a good job overall of slowing the game down a little and preventing them from getting a lot of fast break opportunities. Our defense was strong and we were able to create some offensive opportunities for each other and we had seven players score. I’m proud of the effort and grit that I saw in our team tonight.”

With the loss the Lady Bulldogs fall to 4-7 on the season.

The Mexico girls will go on Christmas break and won’t play again until January 2, 2024, in a home game against Fulton.

The Mexico Bulldogs boys basketball team will host the undefeated state ranked Eugene Eagles tonight (Tuesday) at the Mexico High School.

The Bulldogs come into the game with a 8-1 record while Eugene is 8-0.

Tip-off at 7:30.
