Snow Storm Causes Power Outages in Several Areas Throughout Mid-Missouri
Several power outages being reported in the area after a snow storm during the evening hours of Monday, January 8, 2024.
The Macon Electric Cooperative reported over 650 outages across the county this morning (Tuesday).
The outages appear to be centered in the city of Macon.
Chariton, Randolph and Shelby Counties are also reporting a handful of outages.
Several people in Mexico reported losing power last night north of town.
The Missouri State Highway Patrol said it was investigating 13 crashes and responding to numerous stranded vehicles around 5:30 last night (Monday).
The Patrol said the vast majority were north of US 50.
Mexico Public Safety also reported receiving numerous calls of vehicles that had gotten stuck yesterday afternoon (Monday).
