Audrain County and Callaway County Sheriff’s Deputies Work Together in Vehicle Pursuit
A vehicle pursuit that started in Mexico and ended in Callaway County caused the North Callaway High School to be put on a brief lockdown on Wednesday, January 24, 2024.
According to a Facebook post by the Callaway County Sheriff’s office the pursuit ended just north of the North Callaway High School.
Spike strips were deployed near County Road 147 in an effort to stop the vehicle, which reportedly swerved to avoid them, crossed the median, and crashed into a fence.
The driver then fled on foot but was arrested by deputies in a field north of the school.
Three additional occupants were also detained.
The identities of the detained have not yet been released.
