KWWR Sports Report 1/26/24

The Mexico High School girls wrestling team went 2-1 at the Southern Boone Quad on Thursday, January 25, 2024.

Mexico defeated Fatima 66-6.

The Lady Bulldogs edged out Marceline 39-33, and lost 42-36 to Southern Boone.

Mexico has a 15-3 record for the 2023/2024 season.

Up next Mexico heads to the Seckman Tournament on Saturday, January 27.

University of Missouri’s Women’s Basketball fell to Texas A&M 69-67 Thursday night at Mizzou Arena.

Senior forward Hayley Frank led the Tigers with 26 points and seven rebounds.

Frank’s scoring total was enough to move past Julie Helm for fourth on the program’s career scoring list.

Up next the Tigers are set to host Arkansas on Sunday at Mizzou Arena.

Missouri softball’s Alex Honnold and Jenna Laird were named to the Top 50 Watch List for 2024 USA Softball Collegiate Player of the Year, the organization announced Wednesday.

Honnold and Laird also earned preseason All-Southeastern Conference honors.

Mizzou Softball will take the field for their season opener against Utah on February 9th in Clearwater, Florida.
