Traffic Stop in Callaway County Results in Seizure of Methamphetamine and Two Arrests

The following press release was provided by the Callaway County Sheriff’s Office.

On February 2, 2024, at approximately 9:51 AM, the Callaway County Sheriff’s Office conducted a traffic stop on a vehicle near State Road HH and US Highway 54 inside Fulton.

During the traffic stop, deputies deployed K9 Tajfun around the vehicle.

Deputies established probable cause to search the vehicle and, during the search, recovered 84 grams (3 ounces) of methamphetamine.

The driver of the vehicle, identified as Shelain Whetstine, was arrested and charged with Trafficking a Controlled Substance. A passenger in the vehicle, Chase Grimes, was arrested for Possession of a Controlled Substance and Drug Paraphernalia.

Later in the day, the Callaway County Prosecutor’s Office charged Whetstine with Trafficking Drugs 2nd Degree, and a judge set her bond at &75,000. Grimes was released pending a court date.

At the time of Whetstine’s arrest, she was on supervised probation through the Department of Corrections Probation and Parole.
