KWWR Sports Report 4/26/2024

The Mexico High School baseball team lost a close game to State ranked Blair Oaks by a score of 2-0 on Thursday, April 25, 2024.

It was senior night and Mexico’s lone senior Ashton Belcher was honored.

Brady Fox was starting pitcher for the Bulldogs.

Fox went six innings and struck out six batters.

This was the third time this season young and upcoming Mexico High School baseball team has barely lost to a state ranked opponent.

Previous games against state ranked opponents was a 5-1 loss to Southern Boone on March 23, and a 3-1 loss to Helias on April 22nd.

Mexico is 12-10 on the season.

Former Missouri defensive lineman Darius Robinson was selected as the 27th pick in the first round of the NFL Draft by the Arizona Cardinals on Thursday, April 25, 2024.

Robinson becomes the first Tiger to be picked in the first round since 2017.

The second round of the NFL Draft will continue on Friday, April 26, 2024 at 6pm.

Officials from the University of Missouri will hold a press conference to introduce the new director of athletics, Laird Veatch on Friday, April 26, 2024.

He officially starts his role May 1st after five years at the University of Memphis in the same position.

The press conference takes place at 3pm on the field at the Stephens Indoor Facility.
