Electrical Issue Cause of Jefferson City House Fire That Displaces Two People
Two people were displaced after a house fire in Jefferson City during the morning hours of Wednesday, September 18, 2024.
The Jefferson City Fire Department were dispatched to a single-story fire just before 10 on Wednesday morning near the 100 block of North Polk Street.
Crews found smoke coming from inside the home and said all residents made it safely out of the home prior to their arrival.
Severe damage was noted in the kitchen, hallway, back bedroom and roof.
According to fire investigators the fire originated from an electrical issue.
The two residents who lived at the home and were displaced are being helped by a Jefferson City Fire Department Chaplain and the Red Cross.
